Angelina Jolie Adopts A Vietnamese Boy

Angelina Jolie is officially adopting a young boy from Vietnam named Pax Thien. The boy, around 3 or 4 years old, was originally registered as Pham Quang Sang but has been given a new name.

Angelina, accompanied by Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh, flew to Ho Chi Minh City from Japan on a chartered plane. It’s unclear whether all three children were with her or just Maddox.

Angelina and the little boy were driven to the Justice Department building in the city center to sign adoption papers. The director of the orphanage, Nguyen Van Trung, spoke highly of Angelina’s interaction with the child, noting her ability to get along well with children.

The adoption process took about half an hour, during which reporters and photographers followed the vehicles leaving the building.

Angelina’s advisor, Trevor Neilson, stated that she was staying in a hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and had no plans to return home soon. He also expressed concern about the safety and well-being of the boy due to intrusive paparazzi.

The little boy, described as healthy, had been abandoned at a hospital in 2003 and cared for at the orphanage since then.

Angelina, 31, filed adoption papers in March without Pitt. Vietnam allows single individuals to adopt, but not unmarried couples.

The adoption process in Vietnam can be relatively quick, taking as little as one month with completed background checks and confirmation of the adopting family’s ability to support a child.

The couple, who have no plans to marry, are committed to raising their children together. Shiloh Nouvel, their biological daughter, was born last year. Before her relationship with Pitt, Jolie adopted Maddox from Cambodia and Zahara from Ethiopia.

The adoption will be finalized once U.S. consular and embassy officials approve. It is expected that the boy will be brought to the U.S. in the coming weeks.

While Angelina’s efforts to help children in need are commendable, it’s important to recognize that she cannot single-handedly adopt a child from every needy region in the world.
