Cool New Place To Take Your Kids

Discover the mesmerizing Grand Canyon National Park – one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a designated World Heritage Site. This majestic park, deemed one of the “Crown Jewels” of the National Park System, has captivated visitors since its establishment in 1919. With its mile-deep, 277-mile long gorge, the Grand Canyon offers a breathtaking experience for active travelers.

Within the 1.2 million acre park, you’ll encounter a diverse range of wildlife, including cougars, endangered California condors, rattlesnakes, and Gila monsters. The park is also home to over 1,500 plant species, fascinating archaeological sites dating back thousands of years, and a geologic wonder that showcases one of the most complete cross sections on Earth. All of these natural wonders are sustained by the mighty Colorado River, which carves the Canyon deeper and serves as the lifeblood of the surrounding desert Southwest.

The Grand Canyon is a must-visit destination for families, offering a truly awe-inspiring experience. Explore the vastness of the canyon and engage in thrilling activities such as camping, white water rafting, and hiking. Opening on March 28th, the highly anticipated Grand Canyon West will introduce its main attraction – The Skywalk. This unprecedented cantilevered walkway extends 70 feet out from the rim of the canyon, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the grandeur from a stunning vantage point 4,000 feet above the canyon floor.

Enjoy the open-air skywalk from dawn to dusk, with admission priced at $25 per person. Step onto the bridge with up to 120 people at a time, ensuring a truly unique experience. Special shoe covers are provided to prevent slipping and scratching the surface. The Skywalk, as well as Grand Canyon West, is proudly owned and operated by the Hualapai tribe, who aim to bring economic prosperity to the region through this remarkable landmark. Located in Arizona, 70 miles northwest of Kingman and 120 miles east of Las Vegas, this extraordinary destination is accessible and awaits your discovery.

Even astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, has marveled at the Skywalk’s splendor, making it a truly out-of-this-world experience. Trust in the safety of the structure, as it has been designed to withstand even 100 mph winds with the assistance of Dupont’s 2-inch-thick glass floor, crafted in collaboration with manufacturer Saint Gobain. Don’t miss the opportunity to venture out onto this remarkable structure and behold the wonders of the Grand Canyon in a whole new light.

Grand Canyon has been on my list for many years, but it is always too hot when we visit Phoenix to sit in the car for 4 hours there and back. Not to mention that Mr. 18 month old would not appreciate the views..yet
