A 70-year-old man named Luka Karlovic caused a commotion when he inadvertently picked up the wrong child from a kindergarten in Zagreb, Croatia.
Karlovic had arrived to collect his five-year-old grandson, Petar. However, when an employee called for Petar to come and meet his grandfather, another child by the same name stepped forward, and Karlovic unknowingly drove off with him.
It wasn’t until half an hour later that the mistake was discovered when the missing boy’s father arrived at the kindergarten to pick up his son.
Karlovic has attributed the mix-up to his failing eyesight and the fact that he had not seen his grandson in six months. He admitted that he noticed a slight difference in the child’s appearance but assumed it was due to the rapid changes children go through at that age.
This incident highlights the importance of spending quality time with loved ones and the potential dangers of mistaken identities.
