Celebrity Babies Multiple Births

Introducing Savannah And Eden Mahoney

People magazine has the first photos of Marica Cross and her twins Savannah and Eden. In the interview, she talks about breastfeeding, her pregnancy and the differences between the two girls.

Since their birth, the Desperate Housewives star is getting used to a new routine. “I feed, I burp, I change diapers, I pump,” Cross tells PEOPLE. Plus, she’s getting to know her girls: “Savannah kicked all the time, and Eden was really quiet,” says Cross. “Now Eden’s the feisty one and Savannah’s a little more Zen.”

While Cross has mastered dividing her attention between both girls – and even simultaneously breastfeeding the two! – the new mom shares a moment with Eden (below). “I wanted to be a member of that club so badly, and now I’m in and it’s so much better than I even imagined,” Cross, 45, says of motherhood. “Even before I was 30 I started thinking about (it).”

The couple became pregnant through In-vitro fertilization a week after they were married. The honeymoon plans were to visit Paris and Greece, but they decided to stay home and give the baby a chance.

Four weeks before her March 21 due date, Cross was diagnosed with preeclampsia, a disorder characterized by dangerously high blood pressure that threatens both mother and baby. Within hours, she gave birth via cesarean section to Savannah (6 lbs. 7 oz.) and Eden (5 lbs. 10 oz.). “I had over 12 lbs. of baby in me!” she notes.

Looking ahead, she doesn’t rule out more kids – “I’m probably done,” she says, “but I certainly can see why people keep going” – but for now she’s enjoying the moment: “I’m in heaven right now.”

We are glad that Marcia is doing so well with the twins. If she is anything like her character Bree, she will be a natural!

People’s new issue is on stands Friday
