What Is A Stay-at-home Mom Worth?

Stay-at-home moms perform multiple roles without receiving any pay. According to Yahoo, if they were compensated for their services, they would earn an estimated $138,095 per year. This figure represents a 3 percent increase from last year’s calculation of $134,121 by Salary.com Inc, a Massachusetts-based compensation expert.

These calculations take into account the various responsibilities that a mother has, including being a housekeeper, cook, teacher, caregiver, and more. In total, a typical mother works 92 hours per week, with 40 hours at base pay and an additional 52 hours of overtime.

Even if a mother also works a full-time job outside the home, her at-home work would still be valued at an additional $85,939 per year. This is an increase from last year’s figure of $85,876.

These statistics are based on the online responses of 26,000 stay-at-home mothers and 14,000 mothers who also work outside the home, as compiled by Salary.com.
