Premature Babies Sextuplets

Another Morrison Sextuplet Passes Away, as Four Others Remain in Critical Condition

Heartbreaking news has emerged from Minneapolis as the second of the Morrison sextuplets, Tryg Morrison, sadly passed away on Thursday night. This devastating loss comes just a day after his brother, Bennet, also tragically passed away. Our thoughts go out to the grieving parents, Brianna and Ryan Morrison, during this unimaginably difficult time.

The four remaining newborns are currently in critical condition and receiving the best possible care at Children’s neonatal intensive care unit in Minneapolis. Born prematurely at just 22 weeks gestation, these babies are facing a tremendous battle for survival. Their birthweights ranged from 11 ounces to 1.3 pounds, highlighting the immense challenges they are up against.

In a remarkable twist of fate, the Morrison sextuplets’ struggles stand in stark contrast to another set of sextuplets born in Arizona just 12 hours later. The Masche sextuplets, delivered at 30 weeks gestation, arrived weighing over two pounds each. A striking difference that emphasizes the fragility of life and the unique challenges each family is facing.

Both the Morrisons and the Masches conceived through infertility procedures and have made the difficult decision to decline selective reduction of the fetuses. They have opted to embrace the risks and challenges that come with bringing these precious lives into the world, driven by their strong religious beliefs.

In the face of unimaginable grief, the Morrisons express their gratitude for the care they have received from the hospital and the unwavering support of their family and friends. “Our faith remains strong as we are in the midst of mourning our sons,” they expressed in a statement from Children’s Hospital.
