China Bans Liquids, Including Baby Formula On Domestic Flights

by in Travel

The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) implemented a new regulation that went into effect on Friday stating that Baby food, cosmetics and medicine, among others, will all be banned from carry-on luggage on domestic flights.

The industry watchdog said the move was to ensure passenger safety and property security, a top priority of airlines and airports worldwide.

For passengers with an infant, they will now need to apply in advance with the airline to provide them with formula or baby food free of charge, according to the notice.

If the airlines are able to stock proper quantities of baby food and the right formula, this may be a good idea. I just hope that the North American airlines don’t adopt this policy.

Lord knows they have a tough enough time stocking chips and cookies. Adding formula and baby food may be disastrous.
