There are no babysitters or nannies for Cate Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton.
The pair attended a glamorous charity dinner for the Sydney Theatre Company last night with baby and bed in hands.
Clutched in his mother’s arms, six-week-old Ignatius was ushered into the STC, where his parents are co-artistic directors, for the annual Armani fundraising dinner.
Blanchett, looking stunning in a black dress, carried her son into the event at The Rocks just before 7pm while her husband toted the designer baby bag.

No babysitters or nannies! Blanchett has an excellent nanny and although she gets no credit (like many nannies who work for celebrities – except Gwenyth Paltrow who recently praised her nanny publicly), the woman who works for her is the one who makes it possible for the Blanchetts/Uptons to have such an active work and social life. If she didn’t have a nanny, who would be looking after the other children while Ignatius was at the party proving his parents deserve a parenting award for ‘being able to do it all’ ???

I am fully aware that most celebrity parents have nannies that get very little credit.
I meant no nannies or babysitters on this particular evening…
