Energizer Canada and Evergreen Team Up To Introduce The “Do Something Little, Help Something Big” Initiative

Energizer and Evergreen Energizer Canada has teamed up with Evergreen to encourage us to do something positive in our community and for each pledge, Energizer will donate an additional $1 to Evergreen.

Evergreen is a not-for-profit organization that is committed to making Canadian cities greater and more liveable, creating a more sustainable future for all of us.

Making a difference is easy to do and it won’t take up much of your time.  When you sign the pledge Energizer even offers some suggestions like:

  • I will let the car merge in front of me.
  • I will donate to a food drive or the local food bank.
  • I will donate clothes I don’t wear anymore to charity.
  • I will hang the laundry out to dry.
  • I will donate my children’s books to the school library.
  • I will smile or say a kind word to create a more positive energy around me.

Reading the pledge list made me smile.  Many of the suggestions are aimed at helping others in small ways.  I am always so grateful when people take the time to hold the door open or bring something back to me that has dropped out of my stroller.  It is the little things that make a difference.  Plus, paying it forward makes other people feel good as well.

rain barre; On top of pledging to do more little things for the people around me I have personally pledged to do more for my community. My boys are very fortunate to have lots of toys and games to play with.  They are also starting to grow out of some of their toys so we will be donating those to a shelter near our house for families effected by family violence and abuse. I also cleaned out all of their clothes and have 2 big bags to donate to the Goodwill as well.

I also pledge that we will finally get a rain barrel.  During the Summer our city is on a water ban which prevents us from watering our lawn more than once a week.  Having a rain barrel would be the perfect way for us to conserve and for me to use up what Mother Nature gives us for free!

As we head into the season of thanks and giving I pledge to give to the food bank and to donate blood at my local bank.
