Kid-Tough Music Player With Microphone ~ A Christmas Must- Have for Your Little Music Lover

My oldest son loves music – all kinds of music; Elvis to Elton John, Lady Gaga to Kate Bush. When I was trying to come up with what would be the perfect gift for him the Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Music Player With Microphone jumped out at me right away.

He has an iPOD touch, but it is gen 1 and doesn’t have a speaker. So in order for him to use it we have to attach a tiny speaker to the bottom, which always gets broken or allow him to use headphones. I am not fond of headphones because I worry about hearing loss if they get too loud without you noticing.

Fisher-Price-Kid-Tough-Music-Player4 Aside from it’s ability to be fully customized for your child, I love that this music player has speakers so that the boys can listen to their favorite songs together. It also has a microphone; something both of my boys have been asking for, for a while and it was also created under the Kid-Tough line, which will ensure that it will withstand a fall from a dresser or toss across the room.

Before I wrapped it for the holidays I pre-loaded some of my guy’s favorite songs to get him started on Christmas morning. Before you can turn it on you need to install 4 – C batteries in the back of the player.

Connectable by USB, the music player is compatible with both MAC and PC. This is something that made me happy because we use all MACs and have a terrible time with kid’s toys and non-compatibility.

Instead of using the FP software, I opted to just drag and drop the songs I wanted on the played directly onto the hard drive. To get started we have loaded about 20 songs and will swap them out as they want more.

Once on, the player is easy to use, has a clear screen and volume control. My husband *might* have tried out the microphone and the sound is good but not overbearing. It has a strong handle for easy carry and is surrounded in rubber to absorb any abuse.

I can’t wait for my son to try this out on Christmas morning. Now they can have their dance parties and I won’t have to worry about where they’ve gone with my iphone.
