Grey’s Anatomy’s Shonda Rhimes Adopts A Baby Girl!

shonda rhimes Shonda Rhimes has become a mom again to a daughter named Emerson Pearl, whom she adopted in February.

The Grey’s Anatomy creator shared the news exclusively with USMagazine saying,

“I’ve been writing adoption into story lines on my shows and only a few people close to me knew about my plans,” says Rhimes, who adopted daughter Harper in 2002. “I think the response was ‘oh my goodness’ from a lot of people.”

To create a special space for her ‘Zen Baby’ Shonda hired designers Sandie Bailey and Delores Bond of design firm reVISIONs. The all pink nursery features a Corsican bronze iron crib, a shabby chic change table, an elegant chandelier and plenty of seating so mom and baby can get cozy.

“Emerson is incredibly mellow.  We’re just doing a lot of bonding right now. This is a happy time — I feel so lucky.”

Congratulations to the new mama!  We look forward to meeting the new addition.
