Heinz Recalls baby food in Canada Due To Spoilage Concerns

Just a day after Beech-Nut recalled 1,920lbs of baby food in the US, a batch of Heinz brand baby food is being recalled in Canada due a potential loss of the container seal, which could cause the product to spoil.

Heinz - Chicken with Broth

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning parents and caregivers against the consumption of Heinz brand chicken with broth infant food sold in 100 ml containers.

The affected products have best before dates of Sept. 26, 2016 and Dec. 12, 2016,(codes 2016SE26 and 2016DE12) with the UPC code 0 571660 7.

The CFIA notes consumption of spoiled food could lead to an upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea.

It says there have been no reported illnesses associated with the recalled infant food to date. Parents should return any recalled product they have to their point of purchase.
