Australian Mom Welcomes Quintuplets

by in Multiple Births

Australian mom Kim Tucci, made news this week after her gorgeous pregnancy pictures went viral.   While dressed in a variety of flowy dresses, the 26-year-old woman showed off her growing belly.

This absolutely stunning woman (or shall I say goddess??) is expecting not one, but FIVE babies. Yes, you read that…

Described as a goddess by her photographer, the images were taken 6 weeks ago.  And while she looked to be full term with one baby – she was actually carrying five!

On Thursday Kim and her husband Vaughn welcomed those 5 little miracles at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth, Australia.

Already parents to two beautiful daughters (aged 2 and 4), Kim and Vaughn decided they wanted to try for one more (possibly a boy!).

An ultrasound early on in the pregnancy revealed that she was going to get that little boy – and 4 more girls!

What’s even more incredible was that the babies were conceived naturally!

Overwhelmed by the journey ahead, Kim revealed on her Facebook page(Surprised by Five) that she was asked to consider reducing the pregnancy.

“After my initial ultrasound I was told I could consider the selection method to give 2 babies the best chance in life… I watched a YouTube video on the procedure and I cried, I could never do that! Was I selfish for not giving two the chance of 100% survival?? All I know is that I already love them, and with every heartbeat I hear, I connect with them more.”

Thankfully the couple decided to take their chances because today their are the proud parents of 7 kids!

Baby Keith arrived weighing the most at 1269g, and his four sisters also came in over 2lbs with Beatrix weighing 1210g, Allie 1200g, Tiffany 1170g and Penelope 1160g.  The 5 babies were delivered in just 2 minutes and we hope the mom is getting some rest because life is about to get exciting!
