Parents Sue Crocs After Child’s Foot Is Seriously Injured in Escalator

The family of a child whose foot was seriously injured in an escalator accident at the Atlanta airport is suing Crocs Inc., saying the Colorado-based footwear company failed to put safety features in the soft-soled shoes.

RECALL:Payless ShoeSource Expands Recall Of Children’s Croc Like Shoes Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

RECALL: Payless Children’s Clogs

Payless ShoeSource is recalling about 690,000 children’s Airwalk Compel shoes. Plastic rivets used to attach the strap to the shoe can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Payless has received one report of a child who began to choke on a detached rivet. No injuries have been reported.
