The happy new parents spoke candidly to People about the pregnancy, addressing everything from Jennifer’s weight gain to rumors of infertility. For all the details, pick up the new issue, on newsstands Friday.

Witnesses at the North Shore University Hospital in Long Island overheard the singer using the names after giving birth last week.

The claim backs up a previous report that Lopez’s mom Guadalupe was spotted collecting baby ID bracelets engraved with the names Max and Emme from a New York jewellery store.

Additionally, A spokesperson for Baby K’tan in Fort Lauderdale, who did not confirm the names, told People that pink and blue embroidered 100 percent cotton carriers were purchased for the couple as gifts.

The new mom was released from North Shore University Hospital on New York’s Long Island yesterday, her obstetrician, Dr. Anita Sadaty, told the New York Post.

The babies, who arrived Friday morning, were born a good size for twins. The little girl weighed in at 5-pounds, 7-ounces and the little boy 6 pounds. They were born 11 minutes apart.

Their names have not been released yet.

“Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon,” Lopez’s manager Simon Fields told People Mag

They’re the proud new parents a boy and a girl, Lopez’s rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The babies were born at 12:45 a.m. ET on Friday in Long Island, N.Y., says her rep, Simon Fields.

The private room being held for Jennifer Lopez at North Shore University Hospital is finally occupied. Monday, we reported the room, which is furnished with a leather couch, had “been sitting empty for two weeks” in preparation for the pop diva’s twins.

No other baby details have been released.

While the twins are the first babies for Marc and Jennifer, the new daddy has three children from a previous relationships, Adrianna, 13, Cristian, 7, and Ryan, 4.

People is rumored to have offered the couple between $4million and $6million for the exclusive U.S. rights.

Jennifer is expected to give birth to twins any day, her first children with husband Marc.

The pay-out, said to be between the star and People Magazine, would set an industry record.

Jennifer’s PR rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnick said she had heard inquiries, but declined to say more.

People magazine’s managing editor Larry Hackett said: “I have no comment on these particular pictures.”

However, he admitted: “Readers have to know that when there’s a huge picture, a baby, a wedding, some life moment, People magazine is the place that you’re going to find that.”

It is being reported that staff at Long Island’s North Shore Medical Centre took part in a Code Pink security drill on Friday, which involves locking down the hospital if a baby goes missing.

Jennifer and husband Marc are believed to be expecting their twins this week.

One friend said: “Jennifer has spoken so much about how excited she is about the birth that anyone who is considering a kidnapping knows how far she would be willing to go to get her babies back.”"The hospital will be on high alert when Jennifer comes in to give birth, and have practiced the Code Pink drill just in case they need to put it into practice.”

A representative for the hospital confirmed they had practiced the drill, but said the timing was “coincidental”.

Judging by the size of her belly, the mom to be appears to be very close to her due date.

Her dad recently confirmed that there are 2 babies arriving:

“They are twins, yes,” David Lopez said on Telefutura’s “Escandalo TV” program. He said his sister had twins. “To be a mother is something Jennifer has wanted for many years,” Lopez said. “I feel superproud.”

The singer and her husband Marc Anthony both attended the afternoon shower, which was hosted by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Lopez’s producer on the 2002 film Maid in Manhattan.

A witness who saw the couple arrive said that Jennifer “wore a black coat and her hair up,” “She looked very pretty – and very pregnant.”

It has been widely reported that the singer and her husband are expecting twins. Lynda Lopez, Jennifer’s sister, added fuel to those rumours by gifting the mom to be matching pink and blue Tuni & G onesies.

There has been no confirmation as to what the due date is. My guess would be February, unless there are twins in there, which has been widely reported.

Marc looked on as Jennifer made the announcement and then kissed her tummy at the end.

She eluded to the fact that they will be stepping out of the spotlight for the duration of the pregnancy and possibly going somewhere else?

Enjoying a few days off as her hectic US tour draws to a close, Lopez clapped and cheered as husband Marc Anthony took part in a charity baseball game in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

“She was really enjoying herself,” said one on-looker.

“Every time the wind blew her dress, everyone could clearly see her bump but she didn’t seem to care.
