RECALL: 16,850 Trend Lab Children’s Upholstered Chairs Due to Laceration & Choking Hazards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Trend Lab LLC, of Burnsville, Minn, today announced a voluntary recall of about 16,850 children’s upholstered toddler chairs because the staples in the binding on the back of the chair may come loose, posing a laceration or choking hazard if swallowed.

According to the latest statistics, children are exposed to secondhand smoke more often than adults: 60 percent of all 3 to 11-year-olds and more than 18 million children between the ages of 12 and 19. Experts know that secondhand smoke is bad, and that it increases a child’s risk of developing certain health conditions, including respiratory illnesses, like pneumonia and bronchitis.

Peg Perego Canada Inc. President Questions Health Canada’s Recall Decision
