On Saturday the March of Dimes hosted their Fourth Annual Celebration of Babies luncheon to recognize prominent individuals who are celebrating the birth of their children and those who are committed to improving the health of babies. As part of the March of Dimes November Prematurity Awareness Month campaign, celebrities and special guests were urged to join the fight for preemies!

Held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Celebration of Babies luncheon honored Dr. Robert Katz M.D., obstetrician to the stars, with the Golden Rattle Award for his commitment to the March of Dimes mission. Halle Berry presented Dr. Katz(pictured left) with this award.

Just 6 weeks after his arrival, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden along with their 21-month-old daughter Harlow are showing off the newest addition to their family in People Magazine.

“I couldn’t be happier,” Richie told the magazine. “The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I’m right where I belong.”

In an interview at their home LA, the new parents say they are deprived of sleep, but grateful their daughter Harlow is now fawning over a baby brother.

“I’m glad I had a girl before I had a boy,” says Richie. “She just loves him so much.” Adds the children’s proud papa, “She’s very gentle with him.”

Congratulations to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden on the safe arrival of their second child – a boy!

Nicole posted the good news on her website this morning saying:

In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009 Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes.

Mom-to-be Nicole Richie appeared on Regis and Kelly this morning live from Miami to promote her jewellery line House of Harlow.

The petite star wore an airy floral dress that camouflaged her growing belly.

Just before her appearance she twittered a picture of herself in a cabana saying,

“Going on Regis & Kelly in 5 mins. I’m in a cabana waiting by the pool. This is the life!!”

Nicole and Boyfriend Joel Madden expect their second baby this fall. The new baby will join sister Harlow, 16 months.

Relaxed and absorbed in her little girl, Nicole’s growing baby bump was evident through her floor-length chocolate brown dress.

Harlow appears to have needed an afternoon nap during the outing, as she left the pair’s destination in what seemed to be an adorable pair of pink and red pyjamas.

Nicole Richie spends time with daughter Harlow after a whirlwind trip to Canada this week.

The mom-to-be was up North to launch her new jewelery line ‘House of Harlow’ and to tour the plant in Montreal that will be manufacturing her new maternity line.

Yesterday she blogged about her trip saying,

I toured the majestic mills plant where my pieces will be constructed and then had several other meetings throughout the day to begin shaping my clothing line, maternity line (details to come soon), as well as shoes and accessories. I was so excited to see the fabrics, the designs, and the first samples, as well as share our ideas for what the line will become.

My trip to Canada was great! Everybody that I met was so nice and I really had the best time there, but to be honest I’m miserable without my family and was so excited to get home!

To make way for their new baby, Nicole and boyfriend Joel Madden are reportedly moving their one-year-old daughter Harlow out of her nursery and into their third bedroom – which currently serves as Madden’s home office.

A source tells OK! magazine, “Nicole plans to redo Joel’s office in pink and frills. She’s told him he either has to move to the garage or put his laptop in the kitchen.”

The petit mom-to-be expects her second child this summer.

Nicole Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden are expecting another child, just a year after welcoming daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden.

In a message titled “Better than winning an OSCAR!” the daddy-to-be wrote,

“I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister! God has truly blessed my family. Hope [you're] all feeling as good as i am right now.”
