Barbara announced the news on The View this morning while promoting her new special, What Is a Man, What Is a Woman? Journey of a Pregnant Man.

“I looked at him and I said, ‘Are you pregnant again? The baby will be born in June,” she confirmed, adding, “I’m speechless.”

Thomas, who is in his first trimester, tells Barbara that he did not resume taking testosterone after his daughter Susan’s birth so he could have another baby. Beatie’s wife, Nancy, is unable to have children because she had a hysterectomy.

I have never understood the whole hysteria about the ‘pregnant man’. He/she is not a man. He is a woman that had a partial sex change. Knowing that he may want to have a baby later on in life, he left his female reproductive organs in place so that a pregnancy could be possible and guess what – he got pregnant. Millions of women have done it all over the world…..

I guess the weird part is that he looks like a man.

The 34-year-old, a transgender patient who has retained his female organs, made history when he gave birth after a 40-hour labour on June 29.

Thomas was impregnated by sperm from a donor, which was inseminated at home by his wife Nancy using a do-it-yourself kit.

Susan Juliette weighed in at a healthy 9lbs 5oz and has been breastfed by her ‘mother’ Nancy.

Thomas had transitioned to a man in many ways – he removed his breasts – but kept his female sex organs because he hoped to have a child.

“Growing up I really didn’t have a perception of myself [as a girl],” the bearded Beatie told Oprah Winfrey in April.

“When I was a teenager I had an attraction to women, but it wasn’t a sexual attraction,” he said. “I was much of a tomboy who liked to play with Legos and go fishing … probably up until puberty I didn’t see anything wrong at all.

Thomas decided to switch sexes when he was 24 – he had his breasts surgically altered – but opted to keep his reproductive organs.

“I wanted to have a child one day,” he said. “I didn’t know how, and I had no plan laid out. It was just a dream.

“I have a very stable male gender identity,” he said. “I see pregnancy as a process. It doesn’t define who I am.”

The media frenzy over this story has always confused me. A woman, who has facial hair and no breasts is pregnant – big deal.
