Woman Names Baby After Unexpected Store Birth

A woman named her newborn John Lewis after unexpectedly going into labor in a London store.

Anita Baidoe had been shopping for a baby carrier in the John Lewis store at Brent Cross shopping center when she went into labor eight weeks early.

Feeling hot and bothered, the store staff quickly provided her with a chair and called a first aider. Despite her initial belief that it wasn’t serious, the contractions had already begun.

Her partner, Sam, was called to pick her up, but the first aider insisted she be taken to the hospital.

Rushed to Northwick Park Hospital, Ms. Baidoe gave birth to a 4lb 4oz baby boy.

Dad Sam Quartey praised the store staff for their exceptional care. They made her comfortable and went above and beyond.

The gender of the baby was a surprise until birth. With such a memorable entry into the world, the couple decided to name him John Lewis Quartey.

Ms. Baidoe jokingly remarked that if she had been shopping at Dorothy Perkins, she would have needed to find a different name.
