My goals for 2015 are to do more as a family, take more dance classes and visit more beautiful places. Now that my boys are more independent we like to go biking, hit the trails and play more sports together. Over the past few years I have learned that part of being a good parent is understanding that you have to do more for yourself. You also need to take care of yourself so that you are around to enjoy all of your family’s exciting milestones.
Hypocalcemia, calcium deficiency, runs in my family. I am supposed to take supplements to help with this but I don’t. I have them, I just don’t take them. Partly because I forget, but mostly because the pills are huge and they taste awful.
As part of their Be Active campaign, Viactiv® sent me some of their Calcium Chews and gummies to try.
I am a candy fiend. For that reason I was thrilled to be able to eat treats – and get my daily calcium as well. Each gummy, or chew is 1/4 your daily recommended Calcium value, which was a little hard to believe considering how good they are!
I received three canisters of Viactiv® Calcium Chews – one each in milk chocolate, sugar-free milk chocolate and caramel, and their new Viactiv® Gummies in tropical fruit flavors to try. At first I preferred the gummies, but now am torn between the the chocolate, caramel and gummies. They are all sooo good. Just like candy – but not. It really is the best of both worlds because I have noticed that over the past weeks I don’t reach for a regular chocolate bar because I’m getting my ‘fix’ twice a day when I take my vitamins.
I am also getting 2000IUs of Vitamin D, and 1000mgs of Calcium, which is a clever bonus. I am always weary of candies disguised as vitamins, but I have to say that Viactiv®’s chews and gummies are really good!
I also haven’t missed a day since my samples arrived.
It’s important to note that these supplements are not for children, but for women 14+.
