Multiple Births

DNA Tests Reveal That Bangladesh Septuplets Are Not Septuplets or Siblings

DNA tests have revealed that 7 children a Bangladesh man and his wife have been raising as septuplets are not mega multiples or even related to one another.

Now the retired Bangladesh police officer could face the death sentence after a rights group accused him of planning to sell the children in court last week.

“Test results from all seven children show that none of them are related to each other – or to the couple who claim to be their parents,” said lawyer Elina Khan of the Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights.

The US State Department estimates that up to 20,000 women and children are trafficked annually from or via Bangladesh to India, Pakistan, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

This dad, Anisur Rahman, could be sentenced to death for illegally detaining the children and if it was proved that he planned to traffic them,” Elina Khan said.

What a weird story…You can’t fake having septuplets. They are a BIG deal. So much so that their birth requires 50 people.

Did this couple not think that someone might question such an outrageous story?
