Jessica Simpson was all smiles yesterday as she departed her New York City hotel with fiance Eric Johnson, and kids Ace and Maxwell.
The singer paired a classic Jim Morrison shirt with a floral blazer for her afternoon out with the family.
On the road for a couple weeks now, Jessica told E! News at the 27th Annual Footwear News Achievement Awards she “didn’t know everything that was going to go into it’ before becoming a mom.
“I now look at all moms as superheroes,” Jessica proudly revealed. “We are incredible, powerful women.”
Jessica recently wrote an essay for Parents.com where she spoke about the criticism she received about her weight while she was pregnant and how she didn’t want her daughter to see her focus too much on food choices or a number on scale.
“Becoming a mom has helped me realize I’m actually proud of myself for a lot of the things I have done in my life. Having my kids has made me feel so much more at peace with myself. I see how loving and kind we can be to our children, while never noticing all the things we have done well ourselves.”
When speaking about that to E!News she noted,
“I really wanted to write out to women and let them know that I’m going through a lot of the same things. There’s a lot of things that you can get caught up in, especially in this industry, and that was a message from my heart that I needed to share.”
