Just two weeks after her former partner Heath Ledger suddenly passed away, Michelle Williams is asking for some privacy.
“Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken,” Williams said in a statement released by her spokeswoman. Heath, 28, was found dead in his New York apartment on January 22. Although prescription medication was found near his body, the exact cause of his death has not yet been established.
Williams, 27, said in her statement that Ledger’s spirit would live on through the couple’s two-year-old daughter.
“I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father,” she said.
“All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. “She will be brought up with the best memories of him.”
