But where was this baby’s mom?

Newborn stuck in Sewer China China’s Qianjiang Evening News paper reported today that the unidentified 22-year-old woman has come forward and is saying that her baby slipped from her hands after the delivery and down the toilet drain.

Unplanned, the woman told police she had gotten pregnant after a one-night stand.

She also revealed that she could not afford an abortion and hid her pregnancy from neighbors by tying strips of cloth around her stomach and wearing baggy clothes.

When she went into labour on Sunday she reportedly went to the fourth-floor public bathroom in the apartment building where she lived and delivered her baby.

‘Not wanting her child, but unwilling to leave him to die in the drain, she notified a neighbor of sounds coming from the pipes, who then called police to investigate.’

The baby, who has been named ‘baby 59’, is in stable condition, with a good prognosis good despite heavy bruising to his legs, arms and head.
