Sears Wish Book Celebrates 60 Years

Sears 60th anniversary catalog cover The Sears Wish Book has been an institution in our house since I was little.  I always knew the Holidays were close when the Wish Book was dropped off at our door and I would pick through every item on every page making my list for Santa.

As I got older the book was perfect to give me ideas for family and now I have come full circle and enjoy looking through it with my boys.

This year Sears celebrates 60 years of the iconic book with the introduction of an app. Now you can peruse the Wish Book on your tablet and make lists that can later be shared via email, Twitter or Facebook and highlight individual pages so you won’t forget that perfect gift for that special someone! For my youngest son, I showed him the app and asked him use the ‘red’ button to let us know which toys he would like added to his list, which is the cart. The Wishlist button requires you to type in the name of the item, a skill he hasn’t yet mastered.  Later, I will pick through the cart and have him narrow it down to his top 5.

Sears Wish Book App 2012

Sears has included the whole Wish Book and also just the Toy Shop in the app, something I liked because the kids don’t want to pick through clothes and housewares when looking for their ‘must-haves’.

Recently the store closest to us underwent some renovations and reduced the size of their toy department significantly. Thankfully, Sears’ selection online, however has not been reduced. This year Sears has more than 1,800 toys in their warehouse for the holiday season, many of which are on sale right now.

That works well for me because I plan to curl up with my iPad tonight and finish my Holiday shopping without leaving my living room!

If you plan to shop at Sears.ca for the holidays we have two savings offers:

  • $10 off a purchase of $100 or more on regular-priced toys. This ends on December 24th Coupon code: 941 612 203
  • FREE shipping with a purchase of more than $75 until December 20th! Check it out here
