Summer Infant 3DFlip Convenience Stroller {Video Review}

Shopping for a travel stroller can sometimes be a bit of a task for parents looking for something that meets their needs, but doesn’t kill their budget. New for 2015, the Summer Infant 3D Flip stroller is a reasonably priced stroller that offers the option to have their baby face out or face in. Compact, easy to use and just $129 – this stroller is definitely one of our favorites!

Out of the box parents just need to pop on the front/back wheels, and slide the canopy into the frame.

The 3Dflip offers a unique design, in that it allows parents to use the seat facing you/facing out.

In ‘facing you’ mode the stroller can only be used with kids up to 25lbs, as there isn’t a foot rest.  In this mode the seat can be reclined to 3 positions, but not completely flat for a newborn.  The straps are adjustable to three positions, and there is a head hugger for little ones.

The canopy can be slid down the frame to give kids full coverage.  In the ‘facing you’ configuration, the seat truly is for smaller kids as it doesn’t have a footrest. So when they get longer, you will have to switch them as their feet will dangle over the side.

The seat, in both configurations, has a 5-point harness with breakaway straps to allow your to adjust the harness height.  Summer Infant includes a buckle cover that velcros over top of the release button to hide it a little bit from kids who like to free themselves when you’re not looking.

The canopy on the 3DFlip is both spacious and versatile as it has to move back and forth to accommodate kids facing both directions.  For this reason, it can be rolled up at the back to allow air to flow through the stroller on hot days.  The top of the canopy has a peek a boo window, which is accessible from under the front of the hood when in the facing out position.

Under the stroller the 3DFlip has a standard travel stroller storage basket that can be accessed from the sides when the seat is reclined or in the facing you position or by lifting the seat at the back if your child is facing out.  This basket isn’t the biggest one we’ve seen, but it will hold a change of clothes, and some snacks during a day out.

On the sides of the stroller there are additional pockets that you can use to hold your phone or keys.

This stroller rides on 8- 5 3/4-Inch wheels that can be locked at the front for bumpier terrain.    Summer Infant also uses anti shock technology on the front to give kids a smoother ride.  At the back each set of wheels can be locked by just pressing down on the levers or lifting them up when you are ready to go.  It is easy to do, and can be done in light shoes like ballet flats or flip flops.

The handles on the 3DFlip are fixed at 43″ high, and they are ergonomic to give you better manoeuvrability when out in busy places.

Perfect for travel, this stroller has a one-handed fold.  Once folded, the frame locks in place and parents can carry the stroller with the attached strap.

Often when parents want a stroller that will give them the option to reverse the seat they have to go to a full size configuration that is large and bulky. The Summer Infant 3DFlip is a lightweight stroller that offers a lot of great options for a really reasonable price.
