We recently received a copy of The Smithsonian Institute’s Alphabet of Dinosaurs. The book comes with a cd that has a cute dinosaur song and a narrated version of the book.
As soon as I put the cd on for my son – he started to dance. It starts with some music then goes into the story.
Having a narrator allowed me to be able to point out what was happening in the book and show my little guy the differences between each animal.
Now, when we get the book out he points to the cd player for us to start the music because he believes the two go together and he’s right!
The author, Barbie Heit Schwaeber, manages to find 21 types of dinosaurs describing them through witty rhymes and detailed pictures. This makes Alphabet of Dinosaurs a ‘must have’ for kids who are learning about the pre-historic period.
For parents who have children that like other types of animals, sound prints, the publisher, has an Alphabet of Insects book, Alphabet of Bears and Alphabet of Ocean Animals.
The book/cd combo retail for 15.95 at soundprints.com
