Bugaboo North America has issued a recall for more than 18,000 Giraffe high chairs due to a fall hazard that could lead to serious injury or even death. The recall, announced on June 12, 2025, affects chairs sold in the United States and Canada between May 2023 and April 2025.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the screws that connect the legs to the frame may not be properly tightened during assembly. If they loosen or detach, the legs can separate from the chair—posing a dangerous risk to children seated inside.
This recall includes Bugaboo’s Giraffe high chairs in five colors:
- Blue – Item Code: 200008005
- Black – Item Code: 200008004
- Natural Wood/White – Item Code: 200008002
- Warm Wood/Gray – Item Code: 200008003
- White – Item Code: 200008001
The chairs measure about 30 inches tall, 21 inches wide, and 23 inches long. The item code can be found on the underside of the seat.
Bugaboo has received 22 reports of the chair’s legs detaching, including 13 cases involving minor injuries. No fatalities have been reported at this time.
