Simon Cowell, Eric Philip Cowell, and Lauren Silverman make a glamorous appearance at the “America’s Got Talent” Season 18 Finale in Pasadena, California.
The charismatic couple welcomed their son Eric on February 14, 2014.
Simon Cowell, known for his tough critique on American Idol, reveals a softer side after becoming a father. In an emotional interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2022, Cowell expresses his overwhelming love for his son Eric. He admits that he never thought he could experience such profound love again after losing his parents until he saw the first ultrasound. Cowell gushes, “From that moment, I was smitten. Eric is the most incredible thing that has ever happened to me. I simply cannot imagine my life without him.”
Backstage at the show, Cowell reflected to PEOPLE on the surprising outcome of the season. Despite the mixed reactions from the audience, Cowell acknowledges that Stoica and his incredible pup delivered an outstanding performance, ultimately winning the public’s vote. Cowell confessed, “I would have been happy with anyone winning. It was a bit of a surprise, but I’m content.”
During the finale, the judges announced Stoica and Hurricane, the Ramadhani Brothers, Putri Ariani, Anna DeGuzman, and Murmuration as the top 5 acts. The Ramadhani Brothers secured fifth place, Ariani fourth, Murmuration third, and DeGuzman second. However, it was Stoica and Hurricane who emerged as the champions, taking home a grand prize of $1 million and the opportunity to headline the America’s Got Talent Presents Superstars Live show in Las Vegas.
Cowell shared that, with years of experience in the industry, he has learned to expect surprising outcomes. He notes that one of the highlights of this season’s champions is their genuine disbelief at winning. Cowell remarks, “The dog is absolutely adorable. It was a heartwarming happy ending.”
While Eric is Simon’s first child, Silverman has a teenage son named Adam from her previous marriage.
