Crappy Parents

What is With Parents Putting Their Babies Up For Sale?

I am so amazed every time I read that some wacky parent had put an ad in a paper to sell their child.

Vancouver police are investigating the attempted sale of a week-old baby for $10,000 on the online classified site Craigslist.

A woman surfing the website Friday evening noticed the ad and called police. Vancouver police used a cellphone number on the ad to track the alleged sellers to a West End apartment.

When police arrived at the home they arrested the baby’s mom, who was breastfeeding and a 26-year-old man they say is the father, on charges of mischief.

“They said it was just a hoax,” said Vancouver police spokesman Const. Tim Fanning.

“Only they know if it was a hoax or not.”

The baby, who has been placed in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development, is in good health.

The two suspects are known to police, Fanning said, and allegedly have addiction issues.

Last weekend a couple lost their baby after he was listed on Ebay for $1. They also said it was a hoax.
