Mom Says Daycare Worker Breastfed Her Baby and Made Him Sick

Most moms are used to receiving unsolicited advice, but what happens when that advice turns into inappropriate and unwanted action? A North Carolina mom might have the answer.

Her son, just three months old and apparently lactose intolerant, was suffering from constipation. A daycare worker at Carrboro Early School reportedly suggested that she could breastfeed the mom’s baby to help him get over the constipation. The mom, who also works at the daycare, told Fox news that she declined the daycare worker’s offer.

“She said that she had a son and did I want her to put my child to her breast to breastfeed,” the mom said. “I said, ‘No, that’s nasty. We don’t do things like that.’”

Yet, when looking at footage from the daycare, it appears that the worker had completely ignored the mom’s request. She appears to be lifting her shirt and then placing the baby to her breast, just seconds after the mom left the room.

“She did it with ease, like it’s something she does on a normal basis,” the mom said of the incident. “That’s an innocent baby. My baby couldn’t say, ‘No, don’t do that.’ He couldn’t defend himself.”

The mother also states that her baby ended up in the emergency room just hours after the breastfeeding incident because he is lactose intolerant. So, even though the worker was reportedly fired from her job, where she has reportedly worked for the last ten years, the mom is asking to have charges brought against the breastfeeding worker.

“Not only did you put your breast to my son, you also made my son sick,” she said. “I would hate for any parent, any family to have to go through what me and my family have had to go through.”

Local police say they are investigating the incident as a case of child abuse, but no charges have yet been filed against the daycare worker.
