Michigan Couple With 12 Boys Wonders If They’ll To Continue The Blue Streak With Baby #13!

Jay and Kateri Schwandt’s baby is due May 9. The couple are pros. This will be their 13th child. But with 12 sons at home the big question is will they continue the blue streak or will they welcome a little girl into the family!

While their only hope is for a healthy baby, both Jay and Kateri admit the other side would be interesting.

“I’ve experienced all the boy stuff,” the dad-to-be told The Grand River Press. “As long as we are having all these children, it would be really neat to experience the other side.”

“The stuff that goes on in this house is all-boy — roughhousing and wrestling,” Jay continued. “If there was a little girl in there, I assume it would be different.”

Kateri has been pregnant for ‘half of her life’, with children ranging in age from 15 months to 22 years. For almost two decades she has been the only girl in the house.

“A little girl would be neat to have in the house, but a little boy kind of takes the pressure off,” she said. “We know what we are doing. Why change things up?”

The kids are divided on whether or not they want a baby brother or sister. But they’ll have to wait until delivery day to find out as Jay and Kateri are continuing their tradition of ‘not finding out.’
