The Duggars are stars of the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting,” based on their ever growing family. With a super sized family of 19 children there was been some questions whether or not they would try for a 20th baby. This especially after the youngest, Josie, was born very premature.
“When we look at Josie — we were just talking about it this morning — and I thought, even knowing that we went through the challenge that we did, we would do it again,”
During Michelle’s last pregnancy she developed a dangerous case of preeclampsia that risked her and Josie’s life. Doctors had to induce Michelle a full 3.5 months early in order to save the pair. Josie Duggar came into the world weighing only 1 pound, 6 ounces. After a series of medical complications, such as a perforated bowel(NEC), she was released home 7 months after her birth.
“The precious life that we see here is not a coincidence,” she added. “I just know that it is a miracle. I don’t take that for granted. I know that God is the one who gives life, and I’m just so grateful and thankful. We would welcome another if He saw fit, but we’ll wait and see.”
Despite the health problems that arose during Michelle’s pregnancy, she says she is back in good health and stable. The family is back in their home and ready to start the new season of their reality show.
“I definitely feel much better than I did seven and a half months ago with preeclampsia. My blood pressure is great now, and I feel good. I’m really thankful; just so grateful to have Josie,” she said.
Michelle’s husband, Jim Bob Duggar, says that despite Josie’s concerns she is maturing well and should catch up with other children developmentally within two years.
“They say by the time she’s 2 years old, she should catch up with someone developmentally who’s 2 years old. It’s amazing how well she’s doing. We’re just so thankful to God that she is thriving and doing well,”

I REALLY ENJOY THE SHOW “THE DUGGARS 19 KIDS AND COUNTING”. I LOVE MICHELLE AND JIM BOB’S BELIEF IN GOD AND THE LOVE THEY HAVE FOR OTHERS. I TOTALLY SUPPORT THEM IN THEIR PARENTING. BUT I DO PRAY FOR THEM TO REMAIN HEALTH TO BE THERE FOR ALL THE CHILDREN AS THEY GROW UP. HAVING MORE CHILDREN AT THIS AGE IS RISKY, AND HAVING BABIES TAKE ALOT OUT OF A WOMAN’S BODY. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO MICHELLE THE YOUNGER CHILDREN WOULD MISS OUT WHAT THE OLDER CHILDREN HAD WITH HER AS A GREAT MOM. A SISTER IS NOT THE SAME AS A MOM, AND CHILDREN ARE AFFECTED WHEN THEY GROW UP WITHOUT THEIR MOTHERS.
I KNOW THAT THEY PRAY FOR GOD’S WILL, BUT GOD GIVES US CHOICES TOO. MICHELLE AND JIM BOB WILL BE IN RETIREMENT AGES WHEN JOSIE IS 18. SHE WOULD WANT THEM TO BE THERE WHEN SHE GETS MARRIED AND GIVE BIRTH HERSELF. ALSO, MICHELEE GETS ALOT OF HELP FROM THE OLDER GIRLS. IF THEY GOT MARRIED, WHO WILL HELP OUT MICHELLE WITH THE BABIES.
I’M PRAYING THAT MICHELLE WILL CONSIDER THAT THE SAME CONCERN THAT SHE HAD ABOUT NOT TAKING BIRTH CONTROL PILLS TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THE HEALTH OF HER BABIES, SHE WILL DO THE RIGHT THING FOR ANY FURTHER CHILDREN.
I KNOW THAT GOD IS IN CHARGE. BUT HE EXPECTS US TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS TOO. IS MICHELLE PRAYING ABOUT MAYBE ANY INWARDS REASONS WHY SHE WOULD WANT MORE CHILDREN? I KNOW THAT SHE HAS SAID MANY TIMES THAT SHE WOULD BE SAD IF SHE COULDN’T HAVE MORE KIDS AND HOW SHE NEEDS LITTLE ONES RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE. HAS SHE CONSIDERED THAT IT MIGHT BE HER OWN FEELINGS LIKE THAT IS WHY SHE WANTS MORE KIDS? I SEE HOW SOME OF THE DAUGHTERS WANTS TO HAVE THEIR OWN FAMILIES AND IF THEY ALL GOT MARRIED, MICHELLE WOULD NOT HAVE ALL THE HELP FROM THEM.
MICHELLE HERSELF HAD HER OWN LIFE BEFORE SHE GOT MARRIED AND THE FRREDOM TO DO SO. MAYBE IF SHE DIDN’T WORK AND BEING OUT AND ABOUT, SHE WOULDN’T HAVE MET JIM BOB. I STILL BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE VERY GOOD PARENTS AND DOING WHAT THEY FEEL GOD WANTS THEM TO DO. BUT SOMETIMES, OUR OWN INSECURITIES AND FEARS OR FEELINGS CAN GET IN THE WAY OF WHAT WE SHOULD BE DOING AND MAKING BETTER DECISIONS. I LOVE GOD AND YET I HAVE DONE THE SAME BY MY FEELINGS GETTING IN THE WAY OF MAKING BETTER DECISIONS. I KNOW THAT THEY MAY NOT SEE IT BUT I JUST WANTED TO WRITE AND ASK IF THEY WOULD LOOK INWARD AND CHECK OUT THE WHOLE SITUATION. WE ARE STILL HUMAN AND THERE ARE NATURAL WAYS TO TRY IN ORDER TO CUT DOWN THE CHANCE OF CONCEIVING ANOTHER BABY.
I THINK IT IS GREAT HOW JANA WANTS TO GO OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY AND BE A MISSIONARY. IT IS ONE THING TO TEACH CHILDREN ABOUT GOD AND FOR THEM TO DO AS WE SHOW THEM TO BELIEVE. THE TRUE TEST OF THEIR OWN FAITH IN GOD IS BEING OUT ABOUT AND HAVING TO MAKE THE CHOICES OUTSIDE OUR SAFE ENVIROMENT. THAT’S HOW WE BECAME THE BELIEVERS WE ARE. THEY MIGHT MAKE SOME MISTAKES BUT BEING RAISED GODLY THEY WILL REALIZE RIGHT AND WRONG. WE ONLY TRUELY UNDERSTAND GOD’S SALVATION WHEN WE NEED FORGIVENESS. IT IS WHAT MAKES OUR FAITH REAL. I FEEL THAT THE DUGGAR’S CHILDREN KNOW WHO GOS IS FROM MICHELLE AND JIM BOB’S LOVE FOR GOD AND WILL GROW WITH GOD.
