Baby Born At Lucas Oil Stadium During Colts-Browns game

We always say babies will come whenever and wherever they please. For one mom that was as she was headed to Lucas Oil Stadium to see her brother play on Sunday.

Former Boilermaker David Bell had a heartwarming homecoming in Indianapolis, where almost 300 friends and family gathered to watch him play in his first NFL game. It was a dream come true for many of them, as they had never been able to attend an NFL game before.

However, the game took an unexpected turn when one of Bell’s relatives went into labor and gave birth at Lucas Oil Stadium. Excitement filled the air as the baby was delivered just 20 minutes after kickoff, around 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Bell’s mother, Kareem Butler, explained that the baby was actually due on the 26th, but labor started while they were crossing the street. They quickly made their way to the stadium and sought help at the first aid station.

The stadium’s spokesperson expressed gratitude to their partners at Indiana University Health for their assistance during the birth, and they sent their warm congratulations to the baby’s family.

Reflecting on the day’s events, Bell expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s a blessing. My niece was supposed to arrive before the game, but everything happens in God’s timing. I’m looking forward to seeing her when I return to the city.”
