Well known for their modern, functional baby gear Nuna has created a compact playard for kids from birth to 18 months. Easy to use, the Sena Mini also blends into any decor with its chic design.
Playards are well known for being fussy to open and put away because you have to lock and unlock all 4 sides every time. Looking to make the process easier, Nuna designed a system that allows parents to pack their gear up in seconds – literally.
To set it up all you need to do is press down on the hub in the middle of the playard. As soon as the frame is fully extended from underneath the middle will lock in place and will be ready to be used.
From birth parents can use the Sena Mini with the included bassinet. Out of the box the playard comes with the bassinet attached to the top of the unit all parents need to do is position the mattress. To keep it in place there are 4 velcro pieces on each corner that correspond with the velcro on the bottom of the bassinet. There are also directions on how to use the unit printed on the bottom of the mattress so you won’t loose them.
This space is a perfect second napping place for the living room, bedroom or trips to a friend’s house. The mattress is covered in a soft fabric so you can place your baby directly onto it without adding a cover. If your baby spits up, the mattress can be spot cleaned with a mild soap and water.
It was designed for babies from birth to 15lbs or when your baby is able to push them self up.
After that you need to remove the bassinet portion and lay your baby on the bottom of the playard during naptimes.
To do this you just unclip 4 snaps and 4 clips and then the whole unit can be removed. With the bassinet out the mattress pad fits directly on the bottom of the unit. Like with the bassinet there are 4 velcro patches, and also 4 snaps that attach to the underside of the Playard.
The Nuna Sena Mini is perfect for families who are short on space and need a second place for their child to play and nap in. As a playard it can be used until your child is able to attempt to climb out. This will likely happen just after they learn to walk as they are less interested to stay in one place.
When you are done, all you have to do is remove the pad and pull the red strap. In just seconds the whole unit folds up and is ready for storage.
Nuna includes a storage bag with handles on the side for easy transport.
The Nuna Sena Mini is not the biggest playard we have tested, but as the name notes – it’s a mini, and more of a convenient space. As a mini it can only accommodate one child. If you are looking for a bigger space for your baby, Nuna also makes a full size playard – the Sena.
