Recall Alert – George Brand Sleepers Poses Choking and Ingestion Hazards

Health Canada has announced a recall of George Brand children’s sleepers. This recall applies to sizes 0-5T and includes two styles for both boys and girls.

George Brand Sleepers Poses Choking and Ingestion Hazards

The safety concern stems from the foot grips on the sleepers. Due to repeated washing, these grips may fall off or be removed, which poses a serious choking and ingestion hazard for little ones.

To date, there have been no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada related to this issue. The affected products have sold a substantial number of – 371,469 units – in Canada between December 2021 and January 2024.

If you have purchased the George Brand Sleepers during this time frame, please discontinue their use immediately. Check the style number printed on the collar to determine if your sleepers are impacted by this recall.

To get a full refund, simply return the affected sleepers to any Wal-Mart store. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to Wal-Mart Canada Corp. Customer Service. They can be contacted by phone toll-free at 1-800-328-0402, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST, Monday to Sunday.

This is the second time these sleepers have been recalled.  Last year sleepers sold between November 2022 to June 2023 with style numbers GRS30400IB, GRS30400TB, GRS30400IG, and GRS30400TG were recalled because the zipper pulls and foot grips of the George brand sleepers may fall off or be removed through repeated washing, posing choking and ingestion hazards.
