Norwegian Cruise Line Debuts Second Prima Class – Norwegian Viva

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), today celebrated the launch of its anticipated new ship, Norwegian Viva. As the second ship in the Prima Class, Norwegian Viva is ready to embark on its maiden voyage from Venice (Trieste), Italy.

Setting off on a nine-day journey through the Mediterranean, Norwegian Viva will take guests from Venice (Trieste) to Lisbon, Portugal, with stops in seaside destinations like Salerno, Cannes, and Ibiza. After touring the Greek Isles and the Mediterranean, Norwegian Viva will make its way to San Juan, Puerto Rico in December for a season in the Caribbean.

Featuring the same impressive design as its sister ship, Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Viva boasts remarkable onboard experiences such as the Viva Speedway, a three-level racetrack; Indulge Food Hall, a high-end food market with 11 unique eateries; and the fastest slides at sea, The Drop and Rush. Guests can also enjoy NCL’s exclusive sustainable cocktail bar, the Metropolitan Bar.

Norwegian Viva embraces art throughout the ship, with highlights including The Concourse, an outdoor sculpture garden, and a captivating 52-foot-wide digital art piece by Dominic Harris. Norwegian Viva offers world-class entertainment, including the Tony Award®-nominated comedy “Beetlejuice The Musical” and the interactive game show “Press Your Luck LIVE” with exciting grand prizes.

After its inaugural voyage, Norwegian Viva will continue to sail in the Mediterranean and the Greek Isles before its official Christening ceremony in Miami. Renowned artist Luis Fonsi will join the celebration as the ship’s godfather, along with Paulina Rubio and Marcello Hernandez. From December 2023 to March 2024, Norwegian Viva will be based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, offering Caribbean voyages to Southern Islands such as Barbados, Antigua, and St. Lucia.
