Heartbreaking details have emerged in the case of a missing 3-year-old boy, whose body was tragically found in a septic tank just 10 feet away from where he was reported missing. Flathead County Sheriff, Mike Meehan, confirmed that the autopsy performed on the young boy, Loic J.M. Rogers, revealed he had drowned.
The incident unfolded when the blond-haired, blue-eyed child was reported missing on Wednesday night, prompting an Amber Alert. The boy’s father, Mark Rogers, explained that he had briefly left Loic by the car outside a friend’s home while he went back inside to get Loic’s sister. However, when he returned, the young boy had vanished. Law enforcement officials had previously searched the septic tank during their search efforts, but found nothing.
It was only after draining the tank that the boy’s lifeless body was discovered. While Meehan did not classify the death as murder, investigators believe it’s unlikely that Loic could have gotten into the tank and closed the manhole-sized lid himself.
The investigation is expected to take several days to complete. Meanwhile, Loic’s mother, who is currently pregnant with her fourth child, expressed her concern for the safety of her other two children under Mark’s care.
This tragic incident has left the community devastated, with law enforcement officers deeply affected by the loss.
