Sydney Moore, a 22-year-old mother, recalled the terrifying moment when her 4-month-old baby was swept up by the twister while they were inside.

The remnants of her trailer serve as a haunting reminder of the ordeal she and the father of her children endured. As the wind howled, Moore found herself in the back bedroom with her 1-year-old son. Acting on instinct, she had a gut feeling to protect her child and leapt on top of him just as the walls gave way.

Meanwhile, in the living room, the kids’ father witnessed the tornado funnel approaching. “The roof vanished, and the tornado lifted the bassinet with my baby, Lord, inside,” Moore emotionally recalled. Her boyfriend desperately attempted to reach their little one, but both he and the bassinet were caught in the tornado’s wrath.

As they were crushed under the wreckage of the trailer, Moore worked to free herself and her one-year-old. Frantically searching for their baby, they eventually discovered him lying in a fallen tree, alive but exposed to the pouring rain. Despite the chaos, all three managed to survive, albeit with cuts and bruises.

“I never thought we would find him alive. It’s truly a miracle,” Moore expressed, grateful for divine intervention.

The young couple lost everything in the storm, but their community has rallied around them, providing essential items like diapers and formula. The pressing challenge now is finding a new place to call home for this resilient family.

To aid their recovery, a GoFundMe page has been set up by the mother’s sister.

Tragically, the storm claimed the lives of three individuals in Clarksville and three in Nashville, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.
