In a heartwarming act of heroism, a kind stranger in Woonsocket sprang into action to rescue a toddler who was precariously walking on a roof. Michelle Higgins, who witnessed the situation unfold, expressed her fear and relief as she watched the child getting closer to the edge. Video footage captured the moments after the child had wandered out of a window onto a balcony on South Main Street.

Thankfully, an anonymous individual noticed the dangerous situation and bravely intervened before any harm could befall the little one. Higgins marveled at their ability to reach the building and playfully compared them to Spider-Man, much to her son’s amusement.

Other witnesses also called 911 for assistance. Woonsocket police later discovered that the child’s mother had allegedly left the window open due to heat overnight, with it conveniently located near a bed.

The roommate who woke up the child’s mother also spotted them on the roof from outside the building, alerting her to the danger. Neighbors were quick to praise the quick thinking and selflessness of the heroic bystander.

Higgins expressed her gratitude towards this mysterious savior and admitted that she wanted nothing more than to give them a heartfelt hug. Another neighbor Michaela Carter, remarked on how unexpected events like these can occur more frequently than we realize.

Authorities have notified the State Department of Children, Youth, and Families about this incident for further investigation. The local news attempted to contact the child’s mother for comment but received no response.
