Three-Year-Old Opens Family’s Christmas Presents

Imagine waking up on Christmas morning to find your 3-year-old requesting a pair of scissors. That’s exactly what happened to Scott and Katie Reintgen from North Carolina. Their toddler, dubbed “the midnight perpetrator,” had gotten an early start on Christmas by unwrapping every single gift under the tree.

According to Scott Reintgen, a science fiction and fantasy author, their son had found his Spiderman web shooters and wanted to cut them out with scissors. Determined to prevent any confusion, the 3-year-old carefully unwrapped everything from tiny erasers to large boxes, leaving the couple stunned.

With the couple’s 6-year-old son devastated by the unexpected turn of events, the Reintgens quickly sprung into action. While Scott put the children back to bed, Katie frantically taped the torn wrapping paper back together, salvaging what she could. They strategically placed the remaining presents out of their adventurous toddler’s reach, hoping to salvage the joy of Christmas morning for their oldest child.

The story gained attention after Scott shared photos on social media, receiving an outpouring of support from other parents who had experienced similar escapades. Despite the chaos, the Reintgens are able to find humor in the situation, even joking about sharing the misadventure at their son’s future wedding.

Christmas mornings are often full of surprises, but this one will surely be a memory the Reintgen family won’t soon forget.
